Changes And Expectations For Tech Gadgets In 2014

Fitness Tech Emerging Market
Fitness Tech Emerging Market – LG Lifeband Touch

The Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas is always a fantastic place to look for trends in new devices and technology.

This past show was no exception; Tech companies, from the large and well-know, to the mid-sized emerging, down to the start-ups and innovators brought an amazing array of products and ideas to CES2014.

Below  are 4 products/concepts which are generating alot of excitement for general consumers, and looking to undergo the most rapid changes in product development as the market continues to evolve.

1. Beauty and wellness devices. Yes, beauty and wellness is now banking on technology to improve human lives. In the recent CES 2014, I saw a number of beauty devices that were launched and unveiled. The makers know that a lot of people today are concerned with their health and they turn this need into something the buyers can use for their overall wellness. One of noticeable beauty devices launched in CES this year is the June Bracelet. This fashionable bracelet from Neatatmo measures and records sun exposure and displays the data on a connected iOS device. Also FitBug’s Orb Fitness Plans is definitely a should-buy device. This device serves as a virtual personal trainer that can track the results of your fitness programs.

2. Wearables. Along with beauty devices, wearable devices will be a big thing this year as companies incorporate technology with apparels people usual wear on a regular basis. Convenience sells, as these devices will not get in the way of the wearer and still provide the service they need. The LG Lifeband Touch which can be sync to your phone will give you the functionality that you need in a device such as accepting calls.

3. Flexible Devices. Flexibility is the name of the game this year as PC makers create a number of hybrid laptops and notebooks that offer more than one function. One of the front-runners in this department is Asus. This global PC maker unveiled their stunning ASUS Transformer Duet Book. Aside from being a 2-in-1 combo device, this new addition to the Transformer series provides users an option on which operating systems they prefer. Asus makers included both the Windows and Android OS on this device. Like any other Asus products, this will come with a reasonable price tag. Asus is known to offer cheap but quality Asus notebooks. Also there will be a lot of convertible devices this year.

4. Smartphones. Aside from combo devices, smartphones will take over the tech market and will fare with notebooks and laptops in terms of sales and quality. A number of smartphone makers released new and updated phones in the CES. Again, Asus released their ZenFone and PadFone series, both are products of their collaboration with Intel. Sony also introduced two additions for the Xperia line – the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and the Sony Xperia Z2. Apple’s iPhone 6 was also introduced here.

These are just some of the items that caught the attention of many attendees and I’m pretty sure that there are more to come as tech companies will release more in the coming months.
