Golden Mousetrap Recognizes Innovation In Design And Manufacturing

The Golden Mousetrap Awards program celebrates the success of the people, companies, and technologies that are driving progress in today’s U.S. design and manufacturing industries. Specifically, these awards will celebrate the return and renaissance of manufacturing in North America by honoring those companies and people who are making it possible, while promoting Engineering and Manufacturing as rewarding career choices for our next generation of stars
Admission is FREE so R.S.V.P. today. This includes drinks and appetizers, networking opportunities, and an evening of celebration.
The 5:15pm reception and awards ceremony is being held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Anaheim Convention Center (Marriott Ballroom), in Anaheim, CA. This is co-located with the Pacific Design & Manufacturing, MD&M West, WestPack, PLASTEC West, Electronics West, ATX West, and Aerocon shows, being held at the Anaheim Convention Center February 11-13, 2014. (Free passes are still available – see related article for more information).
The Golden Mousetrap Awards recognize innovation in the development of new products in automation, electronics, materials, and design tools.
Lifetime Achievement Award
The recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award is a well-known and well-respected figure in our industry—National Instruments’ Founder and CEO, Dr. James Truchard. This award is bestowed on an influential member of the design and manufacturing community.
Gadget Freak
Gadget Freak is devoted to the projects made by part-time inventors. Our most recent contributors range from a 15-year-old high school student to retired engineers. Gadget Freak has long been sponsored by Allied Electronics. This year, Andrew Morris was chosen for his “A Gadget’s Call for Assistance”.
Rising Engineering Star
The Rising Engineering Stars Award, presented in partnership with Mouser Electronics, will be given to Justine Haupt, an engineer at Brookhaven National Laboratory. She is designing test systems for the focal plane components of the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, which will be the world’s largest digital camera. The Rising Engineering Stars recognizes the tremendous engineering feats that often get hidden away in an engineering lab.
